I have been offered a set of 22" wheels for my x5 here are the specs:

22x10
offset 50
PCD 5/120.
Centerbore 72.5

Yeah they'll fit...But you need to make sure you get the proper tire size to make them fit...

I hope you don't mind driving without comfort though. Its a rough ride on 22's...

What tyre sizes should i run??

Hmm...Probably a 35 series or 30 series tire...I have 20's and I use 285/40/20. Since you're going 22's you'll have to have a thinner tire..

You should probably run 285/35/22..

was the centerbore of the e53 72.56 or 74.1? im in the process of getting new rims, but im not sure of the correct centerbore. please let me know if you know for sure what the centerbore is on your e53. thanks
