Has anyone tried these snow tires
Looking for a set of 255/55/18 snow tires for my X5 - has anyone tried the Toyo Open Country G-02+ Snow Tires or Pirella snow and ice cutters?
Would appreciate any and all feedback Thanks JD |
Pirelli snow and ice here. buy them, you will love them.

I'm in Western New York where we get lots of snow. I have a set and strongly recommend the Pirelli Scorpion Ice and Snow's. Mine are 255/55X18. The ABS gives up BEFORE the Scorps on all ice and snow surfaces. They're good, not excellent, but good on dry surface, as well, and not too noisy. They're great!

I have four Pirelli Snow and Ice Scorpions 255/55-18 and they are great in the snow and ice, apart from cutting the sidewall in a pothole on Boxing Day and needing to buy a new tire! Made a great bang sound and then "unstable" in snow covered highway lanes.
I have not had any traction issues (going or stopping) in light snow, heavy snow or freezing rain. I don't find them much noisier than the Diamaris summers. Only issue is on the smaller wheels they look lost in the 4.8is wheel wells! John |
I have the toyo's in 19" for the winters. They are awesome tires. I have gone through 2 winters with them and have loved them. The tread life seems great too because they still look brand new after about 10,000km. In 18" I would assume they would be even better.

Has anyone ever purchased tires from tire-easy.com - they are a sponsor on the board - but am not sure about them after calling their sales department
