Cold start problem
 

I have read different post regarding letting the car warm up or not. I have also read in the manual to start the car and go. When I start the car in the cold and start driving(never going past 3 rpm's) it feels like the brakes are on, and if I let up off of the gas it almost feels like the car is down shifting, that's how much it slows down. I have an 04 4.4 . Now I just give the car 1 or 2 min to warm up because it doesn't happen then. Anybody have this exp?? Or have any suggestions??? Thanks.

Also wanted to mention that I got the car in the summer and this never happend. As soon as winter arrived it started. In the summer I just started the car and after 30 sec started driving.

Used to happen with an E34 540iA.

First time was a transmission software upgrade.

Stealer changed the transmission fluids the second time.
I know..I know lifetime..yada, yada, yada.

Don't worry about it...Its not a big deal. Mine does it too. So do many others. Start the car and immediately begin your drive. Try not to go over 3000 rpms until the car is warmed up and temp gauge is at the middle or near middle. Basically, everything you're doing is just fine.. No real problems..

Dealer just upgraded the trani software and replaced the mechatronics and some trani seals (not sure what seals exactly, but I quote they told me the cause of the slipping was from a tiny Lil seal)because the trani had been slipping. so I assume they changed the trani oil as well. But what I mentioned in this thread is still happening.

Thanks primetime, I do get that feeling, that it's not a big deal.

Mine does the same sort of thing. The trans does funny things when the car is cold.
