Input appreciated on a possible CPO'd X5

I'm new to this forum but would appreciate the "advice" of its members:I'm in the market for a CPO'd X5 4.4. I've found an 05 black 4.4 with the cold weather and premium packages (no nav) at a local dealership for $26,995. It has 54k on the clock. The salesman said they would be willing to move another grand or so cheaper. Right now I am the original owner of a loaded black on black Trailblazer SS with 30k. It's been a great truck but obviously the fit and finish is poor and my warranty is up soon. I just don't know if I want to switch a newer, more optioned, more powerful truck with an older, less optioned SAV, albeit it is a BMW.So, do you think it's a good price and should I pull the trigger or keep hunting?TIA

Trailblazer more powerful? Did you drive the BMW? When our lease on a loaded 05 Explorer ended I bought an 01 X5 4.4. Would never look back.
Whole different ball game.

Yes, it's relatively fast for an SUV, 395 hp (6.0 LS2). Thanks for the input though!

Not the average Trailblazer I guess.

Your asking input from people in here who own X5, what do you think we're gonna say? Dont even compare your chevy to BMW. But to answer your Q its a good price and should pull the trigger if the paint and body is decent. Also purchase extended warraty(a MUST). Good Luck

CPO and extended maintenance plan are a must. Should cost you an extra $1800.00 or so and it is negotiable. But I think that's a nice price. You can't compare the Trail Blazer to the X5 - two different world's. I have an Hummer H3 also and they are two totally different vehicles. Good luck.

Thanks Bimmer4125, just to clarify, the extended maintenance plan is in addition to the 2 yr/100,000 CPO warranty?

Bimmer4125 01-07-2009 10:01 PM

Yes. Extended Maintenance is an additional purchase from the dealer. The price is somewhat negotiable and it runs in conjunction with CPO. It allows your dealer to cover just about any trouble during the coverage period. I had new front brakes and rotors put on my X and the cost would have been close to the Extended Maint. cost - so it pays for itself.

Great, thank you.

The cpo warranty covers break/fix repair. The extended maintenance plan will cover maintenance, oil and fluid changes, service II, brake fluid flush, scheduled maintenance items. If you plan to tow, be sure it has a hitch, way backordered on the oem hitches right now.
