The dealer called around 3 p.m. and said the front caliper was bad and they needed to replace it $976. When I got the bill it was 393.53 for the caliper and 577.50 for the labor - needless to say I am more than a little surprised considering I changed the drivers one two years ago and it only cost me $250 and took less than an hour

You replaced it already for $250 two years ago yet you ask how much should it cost? Obviously, the dealer chargers outrageous labor and parts prices. It's not like you can dispute the prices since you've already agreed to the work that was performed.

I replace it myself the last time, what I was asking is if anyone else had one replaced by the dealer and how much did they pay
