flex disc replacement
Hi,
has anybody replaced a flex disc? mine is all cracked, is it relatively easy? I see the six bolt pattern and that's it.......just want to make sure if it's just plug and play..... Thanks, Mario. |
1. Drop exhaust.
2. Drop center muffler. 3. Remove rear heat shield. You're going to have to finagle the drive-shaft a bit, but the flex-disc job is definitely DIY-able. |
Thank you Gridlock!

A flex disc isn't a wear item like a flywheel, and they don't crack for no reason. You should find the underlying cause of the failure.

Hold on there Vin.. he's talking about the rubber flex disc, the guibo joint. That is a regular wear item at higher mileage, and is pretty much the front u-joint of the driveshaft.
And as GRIDLOCK stated, it is DIY-able. |
Ah, I thought he was talking about the big one against the trans.
|
Yup, the rubber one!!!
Thanks guys, M. |
