ABS,DSC & Warning Lights..PROBLEMS

Hi Everyone,
I have an X5 2000 4.4i Sport that has just developed a problem. When started from cold on a morning, reversing off my drive all I hear is a type of grrrr noise and also the ABS sounds like its operation and all the lights come on the dash. The lights usually go out after I pull away. Today they came back on while driving at about 90mph and the warning light was flashing amber/red/amber/red in 1 second sequences. The lights stayed on until I turned the ignition off. I am getting concerned with all these lights on my dash. Please help if you can.

Thanks, Tony

You may have a ABS/TRACTION CONTROL sensor at fault. Its quite a simple fix but best to get on a diagnostics machine so you can find out which sensor it is.

Trouble is that the lights hardly ever stay on so by the time I get to a garage for the diagnostics, all the lights are out.

That wont matter, if there is a faulty sensor the diagnostics will pick i up anyway. I had a similar problem on an e39 I had, lights would come and go at different times. So I took it to the dealer, 5mins on the machine and they were able to tell me a DSC sensor was bad.
