2004 X5 Heater not warm enough

Hello all,

On our 2004 X5 with 44K miles, the front row heater is not blowing hot enough air even when set to 90 degrees. The rear seat blows hot enough though. I was wondering if this is another one of those features that I am going to find out about after spending a day at the dealer or is it a defect.

thx,
Mohmd.

Do you have the dots on the front dash at three red dots or are they the blue dots? The temperature in the front is regulated by these vent controls too. I usually keep mine at 1 blue dot because I like slightly colder air.
Good luck!

Can you please elaborate on the dots? I am not sure which blue/red dots you are referring to?

Thanks again,
M.

The "dots" are the colored spots on the "wheel" in the upper middle
vent; they adjust the temp you want in your face, eg warm on feet
via heater and cooler air coming in at face, in sun.

They should have no effect on your floor, mid level heat setting,
however. Someone else may offer a lack of heat fix, but I don't
think your prob. is due to the upper center vent setting.

In between the front center vents, there is a temperature control with red or blue dots. You will want those to be red dots and not blue.
