Oil Clumping Issue
 

So I was checking my oil level the other day, and when I pulled out the dip stick I noticed lighter colored 'clumps' of something on it. Is this clumped up oil or something else. Is this normal?

Check and see if it is the consistency of petroleum jelly. Usually white/cream coloured, sometimes yellowish. You may be able to find it under the oil filler cap as well.

If so, it is moisture/condensation, emulsified with the oil, and a sign that you aren't running it long enough/hard enough to burn the moisture off. It leads to more engine problems, including potential failures of the crankcase ventilation valve/oil separator. Lots of posts on the subject.

Interesting.. thanks for the quick reply. But that seems kind of odd. I just got the oil changed, then went to PA and that was a long drive and I pushed the car to its limits (top speed)..and then drove back. And now I drive pretty fair distances and I definately push the car pretty hard. Could another issue be causing it? And how can I get rid of it.. maybe change the oil again?
