POISER: WILL AN X5 NOT START ON DISCONNECTION OF ALTERNATOR SIGNAL CALBE

My X5 is dead. Just would not start after my alternator went dead. New battery inside yielded not +ve result.

Wondering if the signal from the DME to the Alternator on the CAN-BUS can cause the vehicle not to start.

X5, 2000. 4.4i.
