No personality change here.

But I have come across people who have changed depending on the car they drive, so I think it is somewhat common.

Its affected my wallet negatively..But its affected my personality positively. I love my X even though she can be a pain in my ass when it breaks..

90 is the new 80, but other than that, I'm the same masshole driver raised by NY'ers.

My friends give me grief about the running costs of my X5 and the few breakdowns I've had, but for some reason it is still the vehicle they all want to travel in when we go on long trips...

When ever I am away on business and get a rental i miss my x5 so dam much, i do feel confident when i get behind it, the luxurios interior is a reminder to me of how succesful i am, aside from my family, friends, and health of course.

My X5 makes me feel more commanding on the road then any car I’ve ever driven. I've had it for about 3 weeks now and I feel different in it. I push other drivers around, by making close lane changes, I inch closer to the lane markers making cars back off. I seriously care much less about other peoples driving rights, it makes me feel like I'm the big boy on the block. Then I stopped beside an Escalade and I felt small compared to it. :lmao:

Oh well there aren’t that many SUV that are bigger on the road…. in my modded 2.8 e36 I use quickness and nibble handling to impose my will on other drivers. In my X, I use its size and presence. I find other people in their cars are scared and slow down around me, or they get that “F*** that SUV” attitude and try to cut me off. More of the first then the latter, but it’s all pretty funny. I love road politics, I think everybody uses their 3000 pounds of steel as a security blanket to act out in ways they don’t usually when they get excited.

So I see it as a battle of wills, kind of like a game of chicken, to find out who’s gonna back off to let you into the next lane in stop and go traffic; who goes ahead first at a stop sign when you stop nearly at the same time; if your going to let that poor soul driving a Tercel or Cavalier merge in front of you or just drive right by his ass; and how quickly that mofo driving in the left passing lane at the speed limit is going to move over to let me pass as I get closer making it seem I'm about to run over him. This all works much better in my X5 then my e36.

Hey, I know I shouldm't try to intimidate other drivers, but I can’t help it… I’m in a first class cabin, my ass is toasty atop my Dakota leather, my lights are bright as shit, and when I wanna get someplace, all I gotta say is “get the f out of my way”.:nanana:

That’s how my X makes me feel on the road. Off the road I feel the same as usual, I just can’t wait to get driving again.:high5:

Wow. No wonder a bunch of people think all BMW drivers are idiots. Newsflash, owning any car, much less a $15-30K SUV doesn't make you superior in any way...

So how does your SAV make you feel? You’ve listed all your X5's options for all of us to read and marvel at your material possession haven't you?

Why don't you add a point of view relevant to the topic - which refers to how X5 drivers feel behind the wheel - rather then making it seem that we should feel wrong or bad that we feel some sort of elevated pleasure while driving.

Obviously your proud of your vehicle, so spill your guts, it’s about sharing my friend not bashing. If you can’t reach down and find any good feelings about driving your vehicle, then you ain’t got anything to say on this thread. :tapping:
