Your thoughts and opinions on Brakes?!!
Two summers ago I went with Stop Tech slotted rotors and axis deluxe pads....i utilized my same calipers.......at the time i was running my chrome 22's....which eventually went bye bye....
I believe that the 22's were working my brakes in overtime...causing at one point my front rotors to get turned....My INDY did the job...it was a solution for a month and then right back to where I started ...i was experiencing shaking when braking....especially getting off exit ramps ...mostly on high way driving ..when i would brake i would shake... i then moved to the style 215 stag. 20's.....but still experience the shaking every so often....btw.....my bed in process was a hack job two years ago..... I chalk this bad experience up to me.....i did not know then what I know now and continue to learn.. I was barely a member on this board....when I did this job... so with all this said...I know the problem...I am looking for suggestions on what brake set up to go with....I will prob get around to this at the end of this coming summer or fall 2009... I am not looking to go with a "big brake set up"........ just looking for new rotors pads, etc... any suggestions would help....and yes I read all the goods on the front page...I am looking for user experience....maybe I will go back to oem?? who knows?? LOL!! Rich:thumbup: |
OEM rotors and Axxis pads.
Centric rotors look reasonable, but I haven't used them myself. |
stock everything and axis padds !!
without switching everything thats gonna be the best bet !! this is the setup my cousin has with his 22's and they work great !! |
22's are hard to balance. make sure they are balanced properly, that will cause problems.
(stock rotors, and any good brake pad.) polly want a cracker? |

WOW Neil....so far three responses all saying go back to oem and then...axxis pads....what are you running on the 4.8??? Rich |
AKEBONO ultra ceremic pads + Brembo cross drill/slott.....= No brake dust

I went with EBC slotted and drilled rotors up front with EBC green stuff pads. This has reduced brake dust and they perform nicely with no squeaks. I would stick with OEM in the rear based on my experience. I replaced all rotors and pads and the front brake sensor in the last month.
