Front turn signals off when xenons on

I was wondering if there was any way to turn off the front turn signals/lights when just the angels are on(in position 1) and when the xenons are on (position 2). One of my front turn signal bulbs is burnt out and it looks soo good without that ugly (imo) orange light on. Of course, I would want my signals to work when activated, so removing the bulbs permanetly is not an option.

** for a facelift X5 with adaptive xenons (2005 4.8 to be more specific)

Thanks

Well, the turn signals are part of the parking lamps and the parking lamps are on when the headlights are on. So, I guess you'd have to isolate them somehow. I haven't heard of anybody doing that yet.

That's illegal here for the turn signals to be off but don't know the laws concerning this over there. I mean, they would be completely off and also wouldn't flash. :dunno:

Maybe you can wire them to a switch? Like the way the AEs could be wired to a switch.

Well, I know in Europe, the lights remain off, but flash when the turn signal is activated (like normal)

I did this mod on my E46 (cut and tapped the wires into side markers) but can't do this with the X. Also, I had my Audi reprogrammed to the european setting, so the blinkers remain off until activated....

First, get your burnt out signal bulb replaced. Second, you can have your Angel Eyes on without the signal lights, many members have done that. However, there's no way to have your headlights on and not have your signal lights on. Never seen it done, never heard of it being done without just pulling out your signal bulbs..which of course..would be stupid.

If you just want it to be Euro spec (light off but still flash), then try this thread. You'll need euro spec equipment though:

It can be done! All the E53 X5's in Europe have them!

Sorry, that thread really didn't have any valuable info in it!

Also, The Euro LCM has the same part number as the US LCM.....
