How to remove Business CD trim?

2 Attachment(s)
I am working on a mod where I need to remove the trim from the Business CD cover (I am not changing my trim). At first I thought this would be very simple to do. However I am having a problem removing the spring nuts. They are very tight. I can't even get a screwdriver under them. I don't want to force them off as it could break the trim. I don't mind breaking the nuts themselves. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

Here is the spring nut. It is some sort of lock washer.

Also if anyone out there that replaced their MID\radio for full screen navigation and no longer need the Business CD cover bracket I am in the market to buy one. Anyone know the part number? I can't find it on realoem.

just use the flat head scew driver and start working around the lock washer ( pry it out)

Thanks for the reply. I have had no luck getting a screwdriver to pry under that lock washer. It keeps popping off of it. The lock washers are skin tight on my bracket. Any other suggestions out there?

Thanks that worked. I ended up placing a real small screwdriver in between two of the teeth. I then used a hammer and tapped on the screwdriver a few times to separate the teeth a little. After that I was able to get a precision screwdriver between the teeth and pry one off.
