22's are a rough, bouncy ride, Not my taste.

Get a Cadilac. :dunno:

On a more serious note, I hardly felt any difference from the 20's to the 22's.........

Rough? Bouncy? Maybe you rode on 22's with a skinny, low profile tire?

When I first put my 22's on, the ride and comfort felt better than the original OEM 17's on Michelins. Granted, potholes and rough roads aren't the most enjoyable to drive through, but I dont feel its much to sacrifice.

I am thinking of buying some 22" rims, front 9.5" (offset+30) and rear 11" (offset+25) for my E53.

I am reading the following tyre sizes:

(1) 265/35/22 and 295/30/22
(2) 265/35/22 and 315/30/22
(3) 285/35/22 and 315/30/22
(4) 285/30/22 and 335/25/22

Any advice on which combination I should go for? Many thanks in advance.

I would recommend:

(2) 265/35/22 and 315/30/22

combo #2 for your rim sizes. the tires are the same size overall diameter. If you go with wider rims like 10" in front and 12" in back go with combo #4. again same overall diameter. The fatter the tire the better it looks I think...

Thanks R.C. and 993turbo. Any recommendations on tyre brand which has them in these sizes other than Conti UHP?
