Looking to buy...

My wife is looking at getting a new car in the very near future... On of the cars we are looking at is a 2006 BMW x5 4.8is. Has anyone ever had any dealings with these cars in particular? I have been researching x5 and have found that the 4.8is is not a very common car... This one is loaded. There is nothing you could add to it. Literaly every option is on it...

Any input on x5's would be greatly appreciated...

Thanks in advance...

A kit, running boards, skid plate for starters.

Pay a $tealership and get an inspection done. The $150 may be worth the trouble. Also if you could get the SA to run a VIN report that should give you a service history of all that's been done if it was being serviced at a $tealership.

I have a friend that is a Certified BMW tech that has his own shop. He mainly works on MINI Coopers (I have a heavily Moddified 2006 S) but has everything to work on BMWs there. I am having him look at it this week. I also have the Vin report in front of me right now... Just minor stuff (problem with the DVD conection 20k miles ago.)

I am really interested on getting other people that have the 4.8is thoughts on what they think of the car. Any problems or what I should look for before I plop down $45k+

There are many 4.8is owners here on x5world. BTW $45k is too much IMO.

:iagree: ...depending on mileage, i wouldn't pay over $38K. Great performance SUV. Just be sure it's CPO'd at least up to 100K...there are a number of issues that will occur at certain mileage. Use the search function on the forum, there have been plenty of discussions on the "IS" models.

It has 40k miles every option (I do mean every) avaliable. The CPO is to 100k and they are selling it $38500 out the door...

Coments... Concerns...

Good... Bad... Indifferent...

I'm just curious as to the options. Could you please give us the list of options? I always regretted not getting the 4.8 back when I had the E53. I love them. Apart from fuel consumption, you should be fine.

La Mans Blue
Heated / AC Seats Front / Rear
Heated Steering Sport steering wheel
Black Nappa Leather / Anthracite Maple trim
Nav / 6 disk changer (I never use CDs... only iPod)
Park distance control
Premium hi-fi
Cold Weather pack
Preminum Pack
Sport Pack
DVD monitors in the headrests
Towing package...

I know that some of these things are probably standard and I might have forgot about some things...

The CPO goes to 100k miles or 11/05/2011

Again thanks for the input...
