It has to be the turn signal light bulb up front. Small item like this shouldn't required to take everything apart before you can get to it. I can complaint as much as I can but they can't change it now. I am surprise BMW design team never thought of it, even now on newer model.

Anyone have problems with the soft close gate mechanism? When I pop the gate with the remote and don't lift it right away the closing mechanism kicks in and tries to close the gate. It doesn't actually close it but gate continuously cycles up and down until I lift it. If I don't lift it it just keeps on going until the battery dies. Ask me how I know.

Similar problem on my 01. If you open the lift gate from the console switch, it will close again unless you leave the driver's or passenger door open. That doesn't seem to make sense. Also, the soft rubber piece underneath the lift gate, which I assume is supposed to be a release switch, that is warped and if it is a switch, it doesn't work.

Maybe I am blessed, or just lucky so far...I have had my 2005 for 2.5 months, and not any of these problems. My transmission is smooth, my brakes are great, and nothing is leaking.

Its kind of interesting....BMWs can be a challenge to own...they tend to break, have wierd quirks and gremlins running all through the entire vechicle. We all tend to go back to the BMW though, because nothing on this planet drives like one. It doesnt matter if it is a 318i ,X5 or the monster 750i, these things are incredibly addictive to drive. Most of who are really vechicle enthusiast can deal with the inconveniences of owning one because we get such a smile on our face when we start it up in the morning and drive where ever it is we drive to.

I think Im just to silly to notice any problems, but 6 months and 5700 miles later, I havent had a single issue with mine. Of course, its never been about 65-70 miles an hour either.

I guess my only real gripe is watching the gas needle move like the second hand on a clock -- in the wrong direction. Dont think I can get away from that though....
