If it's 00-03 x5, purchase the 4.6 cluster. If it's 04-06, purchase the 4.8 cluster. BMW will charge u for an hour of labor. I did it and it was easy to do with a gt1 if u have it. If the connectors for a 3.0 are different then your out of luck.
