Newest member of infamous "tail light warning" club
Tail light warning light came on a few days ago, right as i was pulling her out of the stealer's lot. this time on passenger side. About 2 years ago, before i learned of the DIY fix, the light came on and i had the stealer install a new driver-side assembly...I think cost & labor was almost $350usd. Now my passenger side lit up but I've decided to turn this into a DIY, the sub-box is in the way so i'll have to remove it. I peeked back there and noticed symptoms of the infamous "burn-out". Question for those of you who have done the DIY: can i use a liquid-solder agent on the hole and contact?
Not sure if there's a connection but it seems both tail-light warnings came on under similar circumstances. The first time, the SES light appeared, i had a tech at Auto-Zone pull the code. Immediately after pulling the code, the tail light warning came on. This time, it came on after the dealer pulled the code and revealed that it's just due to it's inspection II. Any idea if there's a connection.. or perhaps, odd coincidence :dunno:
It seems all of a sudden, she's been hit with a plague of problems (quite costly too). I've decided to repair all issues, including potential issues, all at once. Hopefully, she'll remain healthy for another two years and in time for the second year of the X5 ///M :D
