Is it possible to change the cluster in a x5?

That will not work. The odo reading is stored at several places in the car. and if you replace cluster it will show a dot under where it says "miles" indicating to buyer that it has been tampered with. BMW is smart. You will have to take to dealer to recode to get rid of dot.

Notice the "tampered" dot under miles in this pic.

That is just wrong man. Why would you want to screw over someone like that.

yeah, thats very unethical. you know what they say, what goes around, comes around.

If i know someone at bmw they can get rid of that "tampered" dot?

How'd you feel if you bought a car off someone and found out later on that the milage (kilometrage?) was not true ?? All I can say is Karma and don't do it.

Just put the back of the car up on jack stands and run it in reverse...geez haven't you seen "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" ?

Of course you're probably interested in getting more than just a couple hundred miles off the car so you probably should stock up on some gas in the garage. I recommend some of those rubber garbage cans and some garden hose to feed the fuel tank; that should do the trick nicely. Oh and the car will generate some exhaust so probably better to leave. Just let it run overnight and after a few weeks you should be into negative numbers which naturally will result in a resale value that's HIGHER than the original MSRP !
