bmw service ever wash your car???

I just got a used cpo bmw x5 4.4 with 35000 miles about 7 months ago. As luck would have it the car has had tranny problems since day one. The car has been to the dealer for the tranny problems and service a total of 6 times in the 7 months(5x for tranny issues 1x for service). Not once has the dealer ever given me back my car with a wash, in fact every single time it comes back dirtier than it went in (bird poo, heavy layer of dust etc...). my dealer is life quality bmw in brooklyn ny, and so far i think there service stinks. just now when i called to see if it was ready to be delivered they said it was being washed as we spoke, I got so excited lol. when the car arrived it was filthy. once again worst than when it went in, guess they had the wrong car being washed. Is this just my bad luck,my sucky dealer or is this common with all bmw dealers?????

They always washed mine.

yes it nice that they do it, I have had it done almost every time I go in for service, I'm guessing when there not busy more cars get washed, so you might have caught them on a busy day. BUT! truth be told I have never really been impressed with the job they do anyway, I think they just bring it through a automated wash and wipe dry :dunno:

Full detail for me, but I also just bought a new M3 and a 7 series last year as well. My X is a 06 with 41000 and bought it in December 08.

Sometimes, when the parents leave spare change in the car, it comes back washed with the spare change gone. :dunno:

The BMW dealership I take my cars to does give it a quick exterior wash before returning the car to me. One time they only had to do a quick change of something or another while I waited, the person brought the car back unwashed. I asked if they could give it a wash, and he took it back in through their car wash and brought it back a few minutes later.

This is done even in rainy days (as few as they may be in California.)

I've been to 2 different local dealers so far. Both places had the car washed by the time it was to be picked-up... even when its raining/snowing. I believe its a nice touch.

At a Lincoln/Ford dealership I go to, they routinely ONLY WASH Lincolns.

Always washed and a quick vacuum inside front and back, never really notice if they do the trunk area on the X5.

One time they forgot to wash it and they were closing for the day, they came picked up the car from me at work the next day had it washed and cleaned inside and back to me by lunch time.

I typically won't clean it for a couple weeks if I know it is going in for service, saves me some labor!

They wash all cars in for service but I do not want them to wash my car and they put "Do Not Wash" sign in car. Don't want dirty brushes from someones dirty BMW on mine. Another reason that my car's paint never has any swirls. :)

Good point. Maybe I will start requesting "hand wash only" and see what happens!
