X5 suspention, help identify the part

Hi,

my X5 after hitting a pot on the driver side is making clicking sound in suspension, I found a broken part it is shown in the image

www.ashkon.com/images/x5suspension.jpg

This is a some sort of bolt holding a vertically going rod, on the other side seems to be some sort of bar fixed to the frame. The bolt is half way separated from the rod, see the pic

Could anybody tell me what is exact name of this part and is there any DIY here about this?

Thanks

It looks like the lower end of the tie rod. Having just had mine replaced at the dealer I got to look at them. The work order refers to them as the left and right Front Stabilizer Links. If I'm right (which is always in question) there are a couple really good DYI on the site - just search under front suspension. Good luck.

Thank you, it is actually swaybar end-links.
Found it this is part #7 in this diagram

Yup - those are they - on my service work order the parts numbers are the same but they are captioned as Front Stabilizer Links. Who knows - same thing though.

ordered a couple for $60 and found a DIY how to replace it :) If someone is interested it is here. And the problem described is exactly like mine, clicking sound in suspension when hitting even small bumps on the road. This is it.

Just done mine. Now have a banging on the rear end over speed humps. These are the rear axle bushes which need replacing. An axle out job unless you hire the special tool.

You sure that it's not the rear sway bars?
