also i have a black 3.0i, with the standard v spoke 17" rims. my parents wont let me get new rims (its technically still their car). Which powdercoat would look better, gun metal or black?

One cheap mod you can add to improve looks(this also goes for those who add 4.6/4.8 tips) - Add part # 15 in this link. It will reduce the gap around exhaust tips. BMW started adding the trim with facelift X5s.

Looks great epecially the tips (nice touch)but i don't like the yellow lights though.Also i agree with LemansX5 would look even better with the trims around the exhaust tips.:thumbup:
