Volume knobs for e53 Nav 16:9 Unit

Anybody know where I can get replacement knobs for my Navigation radio in my 2005 e53 4.4i? The ones I have are extremly worn..

JT///MC 03-19-2009 02:12 AM

good question. I always wondered that too. If there is a way, I wouldn't mind some new ones too!

Hey guys, I can't help you with nav replacement knobs but I thought I'd swing this your way just in case you may need them further down the track. I'm talking about the a/c buttons which break fairly easily. Go to: IHKAButtons.com

I'm sure somebody will chime in and help you out with your knob prob.

Sorry, hijack over.

WOW! I didn't know they sold replacement buttons! Must be rare to have one break b/c I've owned like 6 BMWs and none have ever broken! LOL. Watch one break now ;)

asskicka 03-19-2009 02:31 AM

replacement buttons? Thats hot.....Now why couldnt they sell the knobs...

X Foomph 03-19-2009 02:34 AM

I'm sure you can buy new knobs, just wait for one of the more learned to come in with the info. Good luck.

Anas, Like I said a little earlier, give these guys a try: IHKAButtons.com. They sell the exact same buttons for US$20 each + S & H. You'll be doing well to buy just one button from anywhere else. Make sure you read the install instructions page as well. It should end up way cheaper as long as you don't require 4 or more. Your dealer is probably talking about buying the whole fascia panel.
Note: If you decide to go the dealer route, don't try and use the actual fascia panel, as that component is a throw away.

ok IHKABUTTONS.COM cant sell them for $20. anymore , i sent them an email to order the fan speed button they replied saying the price now is $55.00 a button because they cant buy them direct from the manufacturer anymore , they have to buy them from bmw as part of complete sets , so i will come out cheaper buying the set of all buttons from dealership @ $100.00 , cause i need 3 buttons , fan speed + auto + max a/c.

OK, fair enough. Buy the full fascia kit from dealer.

I think that IHKAButtons.com should update their website so as not to misguide the public. I'd push them though to sell at advertised price. Over here the Office of Fair Trading would back you on this one, probably give them a fine and make sure that you purchase for advertised price.

Ask the dealer SA about using the actual fascia piece, I think he'll tell you it's a throw away. Good luck.

well, after a little searching i found this web site getbmwparts.com they sell the complete A/C control panel button replacment kit @ $76.90, i think i'll go with them & install them my self . they also have a cv boot i need to replace for $ 40.63 , where my local bmw/mercedes mechanic gave me estimate for $600.00 to replace

X Foomph 03-23-2009 06:01 PM
