Insurance Up the Roof

I have a 2002 X5 3.0 with about 42K miles. Just received my insurance renewal from the company. I am paying about $1300 for full coverage for the truck. Might be able to save about $500 if I minus theft & collision.

Any suggestions on what to do?

Thanks

Steve

To each his own on whether or not you want state mins. Have you looked at insure.com for comparisons?

Where do you live? NYC is awful for insurance
Considering raising the deductible and switching companies...who are you using now?

Dont do it............

Keep full coverage. These parts a way to expensive.

I have full coverage and have my car listed as a pleasure vehicle weekend only and pay $2000 per year. :(

I just switched it now that I'm commuting 40 miles each way in it and I'm waiting to see what the new rate will be.

We're about $1600 with Geico.

2006 3.0 CPO and we';re under 30 (if that makes a difference, I know in NJ over 25 does)

I would agree with the post above, keep full coverage $1300 isn;t too bad at all for NY/NJ

I pay about $1,300 for six months of coverage if you are getting a Year in NYC it sounds like a deal.

shop around first. raise your deductible if need be. no insurance is a bad policy (no pun intended)

A lot depends on where you are. Some states, like MA, set the rates at the state level. Not sure how it is in NY. We switched to AAA, which out here in IL was waaaaayyy cheaper than State Farm. My '03 X5, my '06 Z4, and my wife's '06 Civic together run us about $1450/yr with 100/300 full coverage. In MA I bet it would be nearly double that. If you're near NYC, it's probably even worse. :yikes:

State Farm
Pleasure Vehicle- under 7,000 miles yr.
1,000 ded.
Full coverage
pay 2x per year
state of NM
2 car discount
good driver discount
etc...
$700 a year.
