X5 DEAD n ABOUT TO BE BURIED

My lovely X5 is DEAD. really. Just will not start. Engine cranks but no life. Checked all the fuses, relay and even changed battery with kick starter but no life.
took to our local dealer and could only find a faulty cam sensor. Did a change and yet will not start. realigned the EWS with the brain box (cant rem name) and still will not start. checked the top cylinder and still...

even the dealer is tired and feedup. wondering what to do with the car in this wilderness and amazment
HELP

Crankshaft position sensor(CPS), checked that yet?

Back to basics. Do you have Fuel, Spark, and Air?

does the engine sound like it spins freely? without resistance? a flooded engine can cause this. a faulty cam sensor can cause the engine to become flooded, remove the fuel pump fuse, and hook up a battery charger to it. start the car several times with the thottle wide open. when it "start to choke" put the fuel pump fuse back in. and keep the rpms at 3500 to clear the exhaust system.

Sensors we changed. Fuel and spark ok. Air ? not sure how to check. I will also try out the the suggestions and get back

hey,I read about this problem, many people suspect crankshaft sensors etc. but as I remember it was just an ignition switch that gets bad over the time
check the link
Ignition switch removal and replacement (long, with photos)
it may be helpful,good luck.

You are right I just finished reading that post and learned a lot.I am going to start with the ignition switch, then check sensors and relays they talked about.Good Luck!!!!

tried changing the sensors and wired the ignation switch directly but no luck. still stuck

HELP

Take it to another dealer. I know that sounds crazy, but it helped me about 15 years ago. In short, I had a Honda Civic SI Hatchback that stopped running. The car wouldn't start, etc. I had the car towed to the dealer, and after a full day of analysis, the dealer called and told me my stereo system was causing the problem. I told the service manager that he was a moron. I called another Honda dealer, had them pick up the car, and the next morning had an answer - my gas tank was damaged. I had hit something on the freeway, it bent the tank, and the car wasn't getting gas. A trip to the junkyard, two hours of dealer labor, and I was back on the road. Ever since then, I am all about second opinions. :bustingup

:( Sheesh, just when you thought it couldn't get any worse! Sorry to hear that.
