DINAN software installed

Just this past week, I drove to Nashville (the only place in TN that does this) to the BMW dealership to have the DINAN engine software and transmission software installed/downloaded on my 2002 X5 3.0i. I highly recommend this if you have a 3.0i and want a little punch added to your performance. It's not a HUGE difference, but there is a definite noticeable difference in the addition. I got it for a good price too. He gave me a discount on both installations.
It only takes 4 minutes for the engine software and 3 minutes for the transmission software.
He also gave me a great discount on some white/clear tail lights and bulbs that I installed that evening.
Has anyone else done the DINAN software for their X5 on here? If so, what do you think of it? I would love to read your comments.................

Is it available for the 4.4?

ChristopherM3 10-10-2005 12:18 AM

Pretty sure they have it for 4.4

I think it is available because the guy that installed the stuff on mine said he had a 4.4 with the DINAN software (engine & transmission) installed on his along with the DINAN exhaust package and also a cold air intake. He said it drives unbelievable...........oh yeah, he also has 20's on it.

Software

The engine software reprograms the engine management system for faster throttle response, a rev-limit increase, and elimination of the top speed governor - MSRP for the download is $399. I got a 15% discount.

The transmission software (along with the engine software combo) raises the shift points to a higher rpm allowing you to carry more road speed in each gear. In addition, vehicles equipped with a shorter final drive gearing are then able to achieve at least 60 mph in 2nd gear with the higer shift points for optimum 0-60 performance. MSRP for this is $349. I also got a 15% discount.

(all quoted from the DINAN website)

I also want to say the PARTS DEPT. for BMW of Nashville is very professional and Jay Lilley is very professional also. I am very pleased with my experience there last week.
