Ok, sorry for my use of the word Poser. It's too charged a word.

For the record by the way, I think the 3.0, 4.4 petrol, diesels are all great Xs. Also, I like the X5 above - body kits regardless of engine size work for me. In my own defense, I think of an M as being used only where it's appropriate, a high performance BMW - over using it is what I find to be the riddle.

First, I should have mentioned my post was a general comment not addressing yours specifically.

Second, I'm not trying to censor anybody but feel someone can give their opinion without being so caustic or "aggressive".

Third, personally, I have no problem with the way you expressed your opinion. Nothing to be sorry about. I'm sorry I caused the confusion.

Why not just take all the mod $ spent plus the 7k and get a non poser (engine) version?

Sorry, I like the look except the badges but I don't get the path to power and money for this vehicle. Given the miles on it already adding another 100hp could make the engine detonate and self destruct. Adding turbo or a super charger to a higher mileage engine is a potential recipe for disaster.

Not to mention all of my cars in the past have had manual transmissions. It's one of the reasons I chose the X. I PREFER a manual transmission on ANY car. They just work better. And for some dumb reason when there's a choice between a V6 and a V8, the V8 doesn't come in a stick.

You're welcome but I've been meaning to post something prior. The post was including your thread but not exclusive to yours. Lately, it just seems people have been expressing their opinion a little too strongly.

How is that different from somebody with a 3.0/4.4 putting on a 4.6/4.8 kit?! To me, that's closer to being a "poser" because there ARE actual 4.6/4.8 models - regardless whether they did not add the actual 4.6/4.8 emblems.

I'm not calling those 3.0/4.4 guys posers. I'm just saying, can we please just give it a rest. We can enjoy the forum without having to be so aggressive.
