Exsessive brake dust...
My front drivers side wheel produces way more brake dust than the other wheels. I don't think it's a frozen caliper issue as I don't have any pull in the car and the disc doesn't feel any hotter to the touch than the others. What else should I check for?

Pretty normal, imo and eperience, on Xs and most cars I've owned.

try a different brake pad. i had the same problem and i was dealing with it then i got a new set of pads and they were 3 times the amount but i didnt have half the amount of dust.
|
The odd thing to me was that it mostly occurs in the front driver side wheel, is that normal?

i cant remember if it had more on one than the other. but you will always have more on the ft than the rear. can say because i dont know. i can say if you dont have pull when you break there should not be a problem with your x. you might just have one pad that is not the same quality as the other.

you must inspect the pads and calipers. check for pad wear differences and to see that the calpers work smoothly. if there is wear on the rotors that is different that may also indicate a specific problem on that side.
