Auto dim mirror wiring harness
 

Hey guys,

I just purchased an auto dimming mirror from ebay and tried to install it but couldn't find any harness/wiring for it. The only visible cable was for the rain sensor. is there another cable hidden up in the interior light compartment?

Don't you have any wiring going into the original mirror that you took off? The auto dimming mirror just reuse the same wiring harness.

even if it just a plain old mirror? like the ones with no compass. what does it need to be hooked up for, it doesnt do anything special. i want to change mine and its just a plain mirror. i want to get the one with a compass and auto dimmer.

Yes...even if you have the plain old mirror, as long as there's a "clown nose" for the alarm LED, there should be a wiring harness. I did this simple mod (swap out the simple mirror, for the compass dimming mirror) on my '04 and it's just plug & play.

I only found one wiring harness which is connected to the rain sensor, my stock mirror didnt have any wirings attached to it (no clown nose aswell, well it's not red :D ).
i might have to pull out the compartment in the roof to find out if there's another harness tucked in somewhere.
