changing reverse lights (back up lights)
 

i looked on the home page and could not find any info on changing the reverse/back up lights. so my question is, how do you change the reverse lights on a 2006 X5? thanks for the help.

Pop out the plastic trim on the tailgate to access the reverse/back up lights. If you need pictures, look at my DIY guide/tip on retrofitting the license plate PDC on the homepage.

i popped that panel out and didnt really see anything so i didnt want to mess with it. theres like foam padding back there. but since you say thats how its done i guess ill have to do some exploring. thanks for the help guys.

There is foam padding but it's scribed - look closely. Peel the padding back and there is the socket.

Don't go ripping at the padding. It's *cut* so you can peel it back
