Hi, i recently purchased a 2002 X5 3.0. it came with halogen lights. i want to put an after market HID kit.
i was quoted 350 installed for an 8000k system. Please let me know if its a good deal ,if there are any issues with HID kits aftermarket in the X5, and if anyone has a good place in Brooklyn ny to do it . thanks. |

and i wouldn't go past 6000k if you want good light output. |
You can get a complete set of headlights with that price!
Check DDMTuning.com and also europeanautosource.com ... they have HID kits for less than 100$ |
You can also check this on ebay

I would not go with a heat temparture of higher than 6000k The higher you go in kevlons the less light the kit will emit. 6000k is ultra white with the slightest hint of purple .I have this kit in my civic that i payed less than $100 for it I can set you up with the company They even back there warranty policy as I had a ballest go out and sent one out withtin a week. Stock bulbs are generally less than 5000k as the projector housing is what gives the purple/blue look. Do keep in mind when you install a hid kit without projector housing it will emit the light all over the place and seems as if you have your brights on all the time. I have mine properly aimed and dont get the flash that often anymore when i am driving at night. Here is a clip of my installation I did on my civic.

the headlights essam pointed you to look like a good deal. they will switch out the angel eyes to CCFLs if you want, and get you an HID kit too..
i would pay 400-500 for that setup rather than $350 just for an HID kit to put into your halogen headlights.. and thats overpriced even with installation. |
Why go for some cheap aftermarkets?
Go for some sport package xenons! |
if your looking for just an HID kit, i bought a set yesterday from EAS. simple plug and play. it so easy to do. all you need to do is figure out which bulb you need and they have a kit for it. i went with 4500K because it is closest to the OEM headlight color. like other members have said the higher K you go the less light you will get and the darker the color will become.
