why are the lights and steering wheel diff?
 

i have been looking at alot of diffrent x5 3.0 and 4.4 and 4.6. it seems that eveyone has diffrent combos of tail lights and steering wheels. i got the ugly of it all. i have amber on my tail lights and the square center on my steering wheel. and i looked at a few 3.0 2003 and they have the round steering wheels and clear on there tail lights. was this an option when new or was it part of the years. i dont see why the 2003 4.4 would have the big ugly wheels and the 3.0 and 4.6 would have the goodlooking round one. any input on why they are all diff?

Round air bag and clear tail lights came with sport package.
You can upgrade them by buying the sport steering wheel with round air bag and set of clear/red tail light

ok i thaught the sport package came with air ride. mine has the airride. and i was told it does have the sport package this is what im confused about.

airride comes with engines other than 3.0

I had rear air suspension on my '01 3.0 Sport.

The white tails were strictly a Sport Package feature until '03 where they all got them irrespective of Sport or not.

The steering wheel is a non-sport thing, like the others stated. You can buy a used sport 3-spoke on eBay or sometimes here and a round airbag from a dealer or an M-Sport steering wheel and the same round airbag. Many of us went with the M-Sport steering wheel for it's thicker rim. The airbag will cost you though.

All X5s got clear taillights in 2004, not 03.
