Deals on extended maintenance?
Anyone know of any dealers offering deals on extended maintenance? Dealers in Jersey where I bought my preowned 2006 X5 4.4 wanted more than 2K for it... I've heard 1700 is a reasonable price... any ideas appreciated...

Call around. Morristown BMW might be a good one to try. It might have gone up but the dealer's cost on that was about $1400. MSRP was just under $2000. Again, it might have gone up since I got these numbers a few years ago.

Here's a Thread with Nine Pages of anecdotal advice, below.
Morristown, as PNG suggested, should be good, and Macon (GA) BMW comes up on the Juke Box regularly. Back in the day when I got my Ext Maint., circa early '05, the "official line" from BMW was that a BMW dlr had to see car/ run your key for the Maintenance sign up process...that seems to have gone by the wayside; thus, some dlrs are willing to sell it by long distance at more competitive pricing. Call around? Anecdotal advice? I posted everything you need to know on the topic already. All you have to do is search.

Did you read the full post of my link? Not sure what you mean by 'thoughts' ?

ur car is fresh..closelly to new....DO NOT BUY EXTENDED MAINTENANSE..YOU SIMPLY DO NOT NEED ONE !. Keep this money in the pocket. small regular operations should be payed at the moment of service.
Trust me you WILL see how much you will save ............from asking price ( or sucsessfully bought with discount one, just do not buy !) Oil change ,- green bars electronically monitoring and tipically show when you need it. Other fluids you can controll by yourself correct ?!!( again to change them you 'll do by schedule in the book) .. Intencity of your driving is question..( brake pads !! and rotors) For example when I bought this ext.serv.maintanace..The time on the agreement came faster to the terms end ,then milege...I've just get change rear brakes ( approcss. 877.00 plus oil change 70.00....so the rest of money flu away...which is half of that..);) |
I wouldn't agree with that statement personally.
|
I see it this way - if you've gone through a set of brake pads / rotors within 50K miles, you will need to do it again within 100K. Even if you only got an axle replaced, you will most likely need both axles done within 100K. I have discounts for the parts through work, so my reasoning is different.

My wife called Josh Dyal at Macon BMW today and the price is still 1595, in case anyone is interested.
|
Another scenario would be the person who doesn't have a garage setup or experience to do proper maintenance on the car. Extended maintenance covers more than just brakes. (oil service with microfilter change, Inspection I, Inspection II, annual oil change, brake service, brake fluid flush, windshield wipers, topping off of fluids, and so forth).

Just an update on Macon BMW and their extended maintenance price.
Spoke to Josh who passed me on to Kirt. He quoted me $1595. So their price is holding an is the lowest I've seen. Sent them my spare key today and should have everything wrapped up by Monday. |
