X5 getting festive by itself :)

so today i parked the X and went to get a Wi fi repeater to cover the whole house (well, it didn't' work after all...) and when i got back and got in the X i didn't notice anything strange.... while driving few meters later, i see the reflection of my hazard lights on the car in front of me... the hazard lights were on!! but no clicking sound... just blinking :dunno:

i pressed the hazard button, nothing... so i parked on the side of the road, turned the X off, and went out... the blinkers were still on!!... so i armed and disarmed the alarm and it went just fine after this... i was puzzled and still think why the hell did my X decided to show off his lovely blinkers for no apparent reason!!!

anyone had this before???

This just happened to me! Thank God I read your post or I'd not have known how to get the dang things to turn off.

I just replaced the FSR yesterday and I was pulling the car in the driveway so I can start my expansion tank replacement job when they started flashing.

I think it might be a panic alarm but the horn is disabled in a setting somewhere???

No clue...

Was your sunroof open or windows cracked? Did something maybe trip your alarm? It happened to me a few years ago. Many other members have posted the same thing. I think it was chalked up to the alarm getting tripped. It didn't reset until I got out of the X, locked it (alarming it), and unlocked it (disabling alarm).

Got dice? The older ones had a nasty habit of messing with the lights and turn signals...

As i was reading michelle post i couldn't but laugh! exactly the same story: go get something, get in the car, drive a little, see reflection on the car in front, get out, arm-disarm :)

Maybe it has to do with the alarm, cause on that day, i parked in an unsecured area, where the parking guy looked odd to me, and i have the GPS and Ipod showing, so maybe he fooled with the car or something... because i always park underground (let's say 90% of the times if not more), so what are the chances that when i parked there it happened for an uncorrolated event?

but in the manual they say that the red mirror light will blink for a while after disarming if the alarm was activated... so you suggest it's a bug in the alarm system?
