TIRE SAFETY ALERT FOR 20in TOYO PROXES

3 Attachment(s)
one of my rear 315/35R20 106W toyo proxes s/t has split inner sidewall , manufactured week 46 2007 , so if you are using these tires then you may want to have them inspected , my tires have 7mm left after 6000 miles and other than the one with 3 splits ,they all look good .

BMW had a recall at one point on some tires. Maybe it includes yours, if so you get a free set. There is an SIB about it.

Found it: Good news, it only affected E90, E91 (3 Series) equipped with Bridgestone Turanza EL42 RFT Run Flat Tires

yeah , guy at the tyre store nearly puked , he sells thousands of these , mostly 22in and never has problems , hopefully it`s just a one off flaw . i gotta wait a couple of days for replacement tire . i might just try and swap 20in for 19 inch wheels if i can do so without camber adjustment , anyone know if straight swap ok .
meister , wheels are not oe , tyres not oe .i have to pay for replacement then wait up to six weeks for refund from toyo so i willnot be buying toyo again . previous tyres were continental sportcontact and they all split from bead to tread on inner wall within 5 years so i wonder if rims are dodgy.

Man, sorry to hear about it, I hope though they will refund you for a whole new set. Replacing just one tire is ridiculous.

tyre dealer reckons one replacement as tyres at 7mm.

Interesting that you mentioned this... when I bought my X5 and brought it home, I noticed on both tires on the lefthand side (like 2 days later), they had these slice like cracks. They way they looked is that if someone tried to slash my tires. The front tire had about 3 inch long crack and the rear about 2 inches. But the tires were fine and didn't seem to be losing pressure, I didn't get any faults from the tire pressure monitor. The tires were the original spec Michelin Diamiris 19's. But since then, I bought new tires and didn't think much of it.

I don't think the Diamaris was part of the recall but honestly I don't remember since it was a while since I saw it and even then didn't pay much attention.
