Free Transmission Fluid Change ?
Hey everybody,
I got an interesting email from the president of the bmw club here in town. He is friends with a higher up for a automotive fluid company here in town. Anyways they are looking for a 2000 or newer bmw x5 to see if a "new tool fitting we have constructed fits this car properly." I'm a bit hesitant to offer my car as a guinea pig, but the service is appealing. Thoughts? I drive a 2000 BMW X5 4.4i with about 93,000 miles on it. Thanks guys. |
Hmmm... There are always both sides opinions on changing the lifetime trans fluid on an X5 with high mileage, some saying it will help and some saying it will lower the trans life. (results will vary case by case naturally)
But from the sound of it they are developing a fitting for a flush machine that will exchange all trans fluid... I would go for it if they are willing to stand behind what they do. Meaning that if your X5 drives and shifts perfectly fine now but the trans starts acting up and craps out within so many miles after this service they will help you out. They know as much as we all do the possible complications of servicing a high mileage transmission and ought to be willing to help you if you are willing to help them. |
