Tint Question! Uk Law

Another Tint question i know, but with a slight difference.

In the UK the current law states that the front windows (driver and passenger) should allow atleast 70% light in! what % does it come with from the factory? I believe there is a slight tint already?

The rear windows can be tinted as much as possible, no restrictions. I already have the factory fitted privacy glass at rear. Not quite dark enough. want it slightly more darker.

I want to keep within the law, but would like the extra privacy. What levels of shade do you reccomend?

This is one of those, "do you want the RIGHT answer, or the REAL answer" questions...I dont think there is any factory tint on the front windows, but I see PLENTY of cars with dark (more than 30%) tints and they have never been stopped...I guess it depends on where youre at too...I had 40% on my old Vectra, and no one gave a crap for 2 years...

But i do think 30% would be more than enough tint for a front window...

tint rules

I was pulled over by police range rover the other week he spun around and chased me like i had done a bank job.I pulled over and he inspected my car and gave me a defective vehicle form ststing my windows were tinted he even asked if i knew they were tinted?a very bright one here,he tested with a lumens testing device and i had to remove tints on fronts with in 14 days,he explained that tinted windows make the glass darker well I was amazed i did not know this and i explained this to him ,he then asked what did my reg plate mean as it was not my initials i said get to fcuk he threatend to arrest me but i explained that is what it meant.
At the moment as the police cannot do anything else they are targeting motorists as most uk police can right down a full registration number unaided. The only good thig was he had two mobile phones pinned either side on his head.HOPE HE GETS A BIG TUMOR..
