How to replace window trim
 

I have the glossy sport black trim and on the rearmost passenger window near the dogbone (hoffmeister) kink, there is a big ding. I bought a new piece of trim but heard you have to take apart the window to fix/replace it. Is that true? Anyone done this before?

let me know what u find out....i need to replace my driver's side rear pillar (gloss black trim). it's faded beyond belief.
