Bad vibes
Hello all. I have a 2002 X5 3.0 with 89K that I've had for 10 months. It had 70K on it when bought last June. SInce then I have replaced in order...drivers window regulator, sunshade clips, thermostat, water pump, right side tail light bulbs (4 times!), both headlight bulbs (about 12 times!!!) This is my 4th bimmer, so I know my way around them some what. '86 325e, '89 525i, '99 528i, '02 X5 and alot of thrust arm bushings!:D But to my point. This past weekend I replaced both axles due to torn outer CV boots and clicking CV joints. The repair went smoothly thanks to the CV boot repair DIY thread. While in there I also replaced both front struts, both sway bar links, and both thrust arm bushings. I had wheel bearings and ball joints on hand just in case. Ordered everything from BMA, Bavauto and AutohausAZ. Went to the stealer to get the front output shaft seals, and the moron at the counter gave me the rear seals! Didnt notice the size difference until I had the shaft off. Too late to go back, Sat evening they were closed and I wasnt waiting untill Monday so I reused the old ones...still in tact. Just wanted to give as much info as I could.
My question is, now that everything is back in place and I am driving, there is a very annoying vibration when the car is in Drive or Reverse and I am at a standstill (red light or stop sign) and when in Park if on an incline and the car rolls a little then locks. When I put it in Nuetral, it goes away. I searched the forums but couldnt find a definite answer (motor mounts, tranny mounts, idle control valve, guibo) :dunno:. Has anyone else experienced this and what was the resolution? Any answers would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
I have been surfing this forum for months now and gotten a lot of valuable information about my X, but this is my very first posting!
