Ebay item question

Has any one tried these parts? Are they quality or should I avoid them?

eBay Motors: BMW X5 E53 Control Arm Arms Ball Joint Bushing Link Kit (item 140303800309 end time Apr-25-09 14:10:57 PDT)=

Thanks!

ebay blocked at work (but not xoutpost!). If they are not genuine lemforder, then don't buy them in my opinion. Meyle is junk.

don't waste your money. stay away from deutschepartsusa. their Hamburg-Technic parts are junk.

i have used their parts including control arms on my audi and they have worked well and lasted.i also purchased my front x5 sway bar links from them and they are working fine.

Did you install DP front suspension control arms and ball joints and etc? Result? Happy with it? No clunks? handling same? Wearing out not fast?

roadfrog 09-15-2009 11:19 AM

IMHO, get 'em. I've had great luck with parts from Ebay. At that price, how can you go wrong? We're not talking swiss watches and space shuttles here. Metal and rubber.....

Some might quote safety concerns, but I highly doubt that is an issue. Again, my opinion, but I'd be all over it.

flyingmachine 09-15-2009 01:19 PM

well. if you want to take chance, you can give a try on those aftermarket parts but I wouldn't purchase from deutschepartsusa. they're notorious by not honoring the warranty they advertise and not responding emails. seach volvo's forum or other bmw forums and you will know.

lots other companies such as autohausaz and fcpgroton have those aftermarket parts availble as well.

and choosing right manufacturer is important. if I have to buy aftermarket brands, I would get Lemforder, Febi-Bilstein, ..etc. Definitely not Hamburg-Technic, URO...etc. What might happen with those cheaply made suspension parts is that you will have to replace them again due to failed ball joint/bushing in just a couple months. (labor intensive and might need alignment again)

So Lemforder strut control arms and Febi lower control arms are pretty good? or better get OEM? notice there is a big price difference,so if same quality no need for me to overpay.

if you can afford oem, then get oem ones. oem control arm/wishbone is like $180 something. FEBI is about half of the price.

as for tension strut arm, I would just get the oem bushing and replace the bushing only. there is no need to replace the whole arm unless it's damaged/bent(unlikely happen).

Sobi, I installed them and so far so good. No issues at all. Worth the money so far.

X5NTahoe4u 09-20-2009 01:26 PM

i am happy with them. febi and lemforder make them for bmw. no difference in handling or anything I can notice and I am picky. I have a set of bmw upper and lower arms that need bushings if you want them I will sell for $100. Bushings are approx $100 and you have essentially new arms. Came out of 04 X5 4.4i sport package. Have a set of pirelli scorpions asimetrico's (staggered 255 55 19 fronts and 285 45 19 rears) purchased from Tire Rack that still has the new tire markings on the tires to finish off the suspension job. The stealer told me i needed new tires when I didn't..
