Chassis Number
 
I have an X5 3.0ltr TD I would like to know which of these 2 numbers is the chassis number and can I tell the year of manufacture from it e1*9814*00153*0,
wbafa72060In38534, also my a/c has gone on the blink and I have been told that I need a new compressor, I have looked on the internet and I found a company that can supply one but it is asking if I have a Calsonic Compressor can someone tell me if my model of X5 would have a Calsonic Compressor, also could someone give me a heads up for any other good company to contact about a new unit also would I have to get one with a new cluctch, I would appreciate any help with any of these questions

Use the last 7 digit from the WBA number: LN38534

Manufacture year for your car is 03/2003, according to here.

Thanks for the information simoncpw, I have checked out the part required but as I am not a mechanical person I have aproblem the part section is showing 3 a/c compressors as shown below could you tell me which one I should be looking to purchase I do not understand what Rmfd is does that indicate a reconditioned unit or what I would appreciate any assistance in selecting the correct part.

Thanks simoncpw I am now being told by my missus that the mechanic has said that we need a new condenser unit as well it is going from bad to worse, is there any mechanical guys out there that can help with this a/c problem, I am willing to buy a new compressor but to have to replace the condenser as well is a big blow the mechanic guy says that as the clutch on the compressor has failed there will be stuff that has went into the condenser and will have knackered it as well, can anybody give me a second opinion on this please.
