Door Won't Open !

I went to park my X5 in the garage yesterday and I could NOT open the door from the outside. I pulled the handle and nothing. I had to climb through the passenger side. Anyone know what is going on? Has this happened to you?

Broken outside door handle carrier.

I paid $93.50 from the dealership. You can get them from pelican parts as well. There is a DIY for this on the site. Search door assembly. I replaced mine and it took about an hour.
