Cooling system hoses
I am going to fix the valley pan coolant leak and the belt. Do you guys think that I should replace all the hoses as well? Would that do any good or it would be a waste of money? It’s a 2000 with 8oooo miles.
thanks |
i would replace all the orings in every hose.
|
thanks. Is there any rubber or hose revive procedure or something that I could help the hoses last longer?
|
if your hoses are dry and brittle I would get new ones

Replacing the valley pan requires removing the intake manifold; while its off replace the oil separator at the same time. Make sure there's no play in the water pump; replace it too with a new thermostat. Valve cover gaskets leaking? Its smart just to bite the bullet and get it all done now while your motor is apart... new belts; tensioner pulleys too. Especially if you are keeping your X5 for the long haul.

BMW OEM hoses are tough and strong. Not always necesarry to replace all but if you do get genuine BMW NOT AFTERMARKET!!!

Thanks for the info. I had the valve cover gasket replaced a few months ago but I will do the Intake Manifold. Do you think I should replace the Manifold gaskets only or I should replace the Intake Manifold Cover Rear as well?

Yup that is the oil sep. Always better to get all the stuff done now while everything is apart NOT LATER.
