Xoutpost.com - o3 x5 retrofitting dvd player??

hi great board and altho this is my 1st post ive been reading up on this forum for weeks but to no avail i hope some1 can assist thnx.
i have just bought a retrofit tv module loom from bimmernav.com and plugged it in to my tv module and navdrive so tv works i ordered this loom with the video leeds attacted for reverse camera or dvd player etc, i wired the 2 sound wires on this loom to pin 11 and 12 on the tuner plug so now i have tv working with sound nice... ok so now i want to put a single din dvd player into my rack.. so i have a unit here which runs off video and audio plugs in/out so i plug my yellow/white/red in to dvd unit and now to find out which of the rca on this new tv loom is video because i got sent 1st off wrong length loom and no instruction to which plugs r which so i found that i can get video throught the white plug but no audio thro any is this normal or do i have to take audio from somewhere else as i thought the rca plug on this loom would just work both since i did the pin 11/12 tie in on tuner like tv?secondly as bimmernav sent a loom too short not for my 03 x5 i wanted to know can i extend it with normal wire or is there data wire in the loom thnx in advance.
