Eliminate the mufflers
 

Has anyone tried to remove the mufflers on the X and just run a straight pipe with custom tips?

If so, would you recommend it?

I was considering it originally, but I didnt want to be over the top. I ordered an exhaust instead. Let me know what you find.

I don't know if that would make the car too loud...

I think it would be on the loud side.

Look up x-pipe.

Removing the mufflers would be too loud for the police - it would be cool to drive down the street and set off car alarms. Maybe not if it's your alarm though.

I would replace the silencer with an dynomax ultra flow x-muffler below and run pipes out the back to resonating tips. I was going to do this with 2.5" but, I am going to add some mufflers. I did plan on recording the sound first. I planned on this a few weeks ago but, my race shop got busy and backed out. I will reschedule soon.

lol i did it !! only for a few short rides !!

when i was gettin my tips powdercoated i just removed the mufflers from the back and took them to the powdercoater !! my indie isnt far from my home so i drove it to and fro and it sounded pretty cool like american v8 muscle car !!

Was it really loud?

i think it would be waaay too loud. I got some magnaflow round mufflers and x pipe..its pretty loud for a 3.0
