Cleaning MAF?
 

im sorry for this NOOB post and i DID search.

But how do i clean the MAF? are there any special instructions or a DIY on the site? what fuel system cleaner should i run?

Use a MAF cleaner from CRC. Remove it from the intake tube, spray on, let dry, reinstall... you're good to go.

Fuel system will NOT clean your MAF.

On a side note, I've also cleaned my TB using CRC TB/Carb cleaner.

I know gas cleaner wont clean the MAF, but i see people putting fuel system cleaner same time as they clean their MAF. figure id do both?

I'd personally recommend Redline SI-1. Use a full bottle with a full tank the first time. Then do the 'maintenance dosage' the rest of the time.

I've tried Chevron Techron, 3M Complete Fuel System Cleaner, Berryman's Complete Fuel System Cleaner and Redline SI-1. To be honest, I ran through them all within 4000 miles. I was troubleshooting a fuel delivery problem. Anyway, even with using them so close together (which can be dangerous to the health of your valves and injectors), the Redline I used last and even though the other 3 preceeded it, I still noticed a slight increase in performance and responsiveness. It's more snappy now. Flooring it to redline is also alot more responsive. Seems like once it hits 5K - it just pulls really hard. Granted it may be compounded by the use of all 4, the Redline made a difference even though I used 3 before that.

since i already have the MAF removed, cleaned and drying, is there anything else i can clean? does the throttle body take more work and removing parts?

Throttle body takes a little more work. If you've never taken it off before, which is what it sounds like, you will likely encounter the 'upside down screw.' Basically the geniuses put the screw that secures the clamp to the throttle body, upside down. Meaning you have to raise the car up, get a really long screw driver and undo it. Don't do it if you don't need to. You'll probably notice more improvement from cleaning the MAF alone than from cleaning the MAF and the thottle body.
