i know everyone knows already but i was driving today and i looked at the dash and just thought what a totally stupid and useless gauge the mpg indicator is and what engineer thought it would serve a purpose...thanks rob

Oil temp. would have been a LOT more useful like the facelift ones have.

i guess 4.6 or 4.8 as far as i know all 3.0 and 4.4 have the mpg gauge

My 4.6is has the oil temp gauge, but mt old E36 had the MPG gauge. I couldn't care less about it in the city, but I kept my eye on it on the highway. And it helped me keep my foor out of her throat just by seeing how much the MPG was affected by the slightest pedal movment.

Yep you are right, my bad, just like mrbmwx5 said and what I meant to say was that the oil temp gauge like the ones on the 4.6/4.8 would have been more useful
