What a weekend, im exhausted!

I got a chance to do the following:

Black out grills - Painted them myself with semi flat black
DRL Disable - Used resistors
Factory angel eye wiring disable - Used resistors
Custom wiring harness for AngeliBright LED Angel eyes - they come on with Ignition power now so they have the same look as all the new BMW's.
LightWerkz Digital HID 55w 3000K Fog light kit installed & Custom Harness - Allows me to have full independent control over the fog lights
Hardwired Passport Radar Detector and Garmin Nuvi Portable Navi
Installed Sirius Sat Radio

Afterwards I washed up the car and took some pics for your pleasure.

My question is why did you use resistors to turn off the DRLs rather than just have them turned off through car and key settings?

But she is looking beautiful!

I was already working on the lights, so it was just an extra step. Saves time going to a dealership. I dont trust many of them in this area, I try to avoid them if at all possible. Not a big deal, I placed them in pretty good spots so they are well hidden.

Unfortunately during the week I am very busy and don't have time to work on my own toys until the weekend comes around. I maximize my time out there :)

One of these days I might end up with those tail lights... they keep looking better and better to me. :D

very nice man and thanx for the inspiration on those tailights ive been accustomed to tinted tailights but havnt kept the red but def a plus.......btw how ez was the drl delete i took mine to dealership and had a bunch of stuff reprogrammed for 45

the stock lights are maybe the weak spot,
safety-wise, in our E53s, imo.

The DRL delete and everything else I did kind of tied in together, and it took the majority of the weekend to finish all the wiring up.

All the harness for the angel eyes does is provide power directly off the ignition wiring, no relay or anything. Anytime the car is on, so are those angel eyes, like in the new ones. To do this without any errors, you need to use a resistor to fool the computer thinking that the factory angel eyes work, and then you provide the new power source. Thats already 4 wires going into the cap by the angel eyes, the other two are for the DRL resistors, to fool the computer into thinking they are working just fine as well. I had to deal with 6 wires out of the cap, kind of tight, but I made it work. Wrapped everything with loom, zip tied it all up, and its really clean, im happy with it.


The AngeliBright angel eyes are awesome. Easy to install, I mean literally they basically install themseleves. They cost a good amount, but they are worth it.

Rob- I think the tint is 35%, I bought the car with it. .

Is it me or the newer years like 2004 and up seems taller? I was driving behind one the other day and I was telling myself how it looks less wider but a little bit more taller. And I stood behind my 01' 4.4i and it looks a little wider. Am I playing mind games? lol
