06 Xenon
 

I have been looking for a 06 x5 and I am confused about the xenons. All the pictures of a 2006 x5 have the same front headlight design wise but only some say they are xenons. Is there a easy way to tell if they are xenons just by looking at them instead of having to actually turn them on? Also are the xenon's adaptive or are they just self-leveling?

The Xenon lights have a circle cut out of the center of the outer lamps.

Not all of them have the stamp. It's very difficult to identify without actually turning on the light on facelift models as even halogens have projectors.

Based on the Xoutpost options list, at the bottom it has 2001-2003 xenon, 04-06 adaptive bi. it states that for 04-06, the lense must state you have xenons, if not, they are halogen: (bottom of link)

My mother has an 04 without and I have an 06 with xenon; I have the stamping, she doesn't.

Do you have a picture of an 04+ with xenons without the stamping of adaptive? I would be very surprised if BMW added the complexity of two different adaptive bi-xenon housings, one with and one without stamping.

My '04 have bi-xenon without anything stamped on it.

i guess this site needs to correct it's information. is your bi-xenon adaptive as well?

06 4.8is with adaptive xenons......just get in your ride with the lights on and turn the wheel to the pass side......of lamps follow....then you have adaptive.....

I have adaptive bi-xenon on my 05 4.8is and there isn't anything stamped on the headlamps

Just signed off on a 2006 x5. As many said it has "BMW Dynamic Xenon" stamped on it but we tried turning the steering and the light didn't move. :(
